ACTIVE DIRECTORY INTEGRATION |

Active Directory (AD) in healthcare
management is complex and difficult. It
is a dynamic area but today, it has
become more critical than ever. The
exacting HIPAA and HITECH guidelines and
an increasing dependence on IT systems
makes healthcare organizations more
responsible for a clean, current and
safe guarded Active Directory. While
working with clients to design and
deploy healthcare IT systems, we ensure
that these systems are secured, in this
exercise it is Active Directory that
holds an important place. Active
Directory provides all the relevant
information about users and access and
the profile of every user. It is
important to understand the profiles and
know what application and devices they
will grant access to and why? Will the
user have access to protected health
information (PHI)? How, when and where
they will gain access and how often? The
access to these systems may very well
mean the difference in saving a life or
not. Any interruption in access can lead
to patient harm and financial risk for
healthcare provider.

B2B refers to business-to-business transactions where two or more businesses or where internal business applications are inter-communicating. Business-to-consumer transactions refer to businesses dealing with individual consumers or end customers.
B2B transactions are more complex and have a greater need for security than B2C e-commerce. B2B transactions involved many complex issues such as system integration within the firm as well as with its trading partners raising many questions about the security of the information exchanged as well as having to have systems that ensured that the rules and regulations governing the exchange of information were followed. The cost of installing the infrastructure proved to be prohibitory and many businesses and suppliers reverted back to using phones or faxes inhibited by the costs, hardly realizing that in the long run they will be saving tons of money as operating costs are cut drastically as well as ensuring a better control over the supply chain integration. The major hurdle was to get the partners to collaborate in implementing B2B networking, establishing common goals to be achieved hence B2B has not become as popular as it should have been.

This is the flagship module of EMD-RIS application, as it handles the extensive scheduling and rescheduling of all investigations that forms the basis of the Radiology operations. Scheduling regular, quick and walk-in appointments for new/existing patients, creating new schedules, editing existing schedules, tracking patient’s schedule history, computing service estimates and handling payments are some of the operations handled by this module.
